A couple of questions for those of you that have painted the interior of the hull in the anchor locker....how much prep did you do and what type of paint did you use? Ours is now "clean" but there are still remnants of adhesive. Got everything off that would come loose with a stiff wire-brush. With the daunting task of removing the adhesive in the cabin to reinstall fabric, seems like the anchor locker could be painted as is.
Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert, but I would just paint it. What have you got to lose?

I think you could just paint it, after all it’s just the anchor locker… but I might try some acetone to clean the rest of the adhesive first. Never know, it just might clean off easy.

I just did mine after replacing the anchor hardware. It needed doing so i just gave it a good wire brushing and vacuuming, wiped it down with acetone and then hit it with Rustoleum Primer and flat top coat - sprayed in. Be sure to wear a mask. I'd take pix but it's now full of 200' of rope and chain.

Hi Doug -- which Rustoleum primer and top coat did you use?

Re: Painting the Anchor Locker of A25
Hi Nancy
Painting the locker was, I admit, a bit of an afterthought once I'd decided to replace the anchor securing hardware. I used a can ol Rustoleum 2X primer, and finished off with a topcoat of 2X paint+primer. I'd used this combo before in the after cabin and it worked well.
That said, there is Rustoleum Universal Bonding Primer, which I'm probably going to try when I paint the inside of the aft lockers, with a standard Rustoleum topcoat to follow. I'll post pics when I've completed one. This is a back-burner project but shouldn't take TOO long.

Thanks Doug. Good to have that info.
I know all about back burner projects. I have a long list of them!

Re: Painting the Anchor Locker of A25
I used Kilz oil based in my bilge then followed with Bilgekote. Worked so good I starting painting exterior stuff with gray bilge kite. The hard top I used white.
I had sticky stuff left over from glue in insulation on our new boat. Don’t sweat it but I think priming really helps.
