getting rid of the bath tub

Post by ppmeis »

We never use the bath tub on our 36. I would like to get rid of it and install a shower compartment and maybe use the extra space for more refrigeration or a small freezer.

Has anyone done this? Pictures if you have any, please

Where is the bathroom on your 36? The layout changed over the years.

If you proceed with the project, please post pictures. On our 36, a twin-engine version, a rear shaft strut is mounted under the tub, I believe.

I removed the bath in my twin engine 36 Albin - a few years back noticed the starboard shaft hanger bolts had crevise corrosion in the bolts(ss).Yes, to access they are under the bath.
Not areal big job to remove bath but I got a shipwright to install shower as there is not one square angle to work from.
Best to get a professional to do the install from your specs.
