Replacement Pilothouse Refrigerator 31
Hey all, a new refrigerator is on my to do list for the 31. Just curious to see what others have installed. I would really like to go with a stainless drawer type. Dometic, Vertifrigo, and Isotherm make these. My local dealer does have a special order isotherm in stock and that’s the 65 stainless drawer model. Normally an 8 month wait. I’m wondering if I should grab it. My current one works but it’s getting a little on the noisey side.

Re: Replacement Pilothouse Refrigerator 31
From least expensive to most, it's quite a bump just to keep your beer in a drawer although I'm sure you can find a way to rationalize it.
Do I need to mention the old adage - if it ain't broke, don't fix it? I know, I know, that's not your style either.
At least pull out the existing unit and make sure you have the depth for the biggest one.
It's gonna be pretty however it ends up.

Re: Replacement Pilothouse Refrigerator 31
Another Update- the existing refrigerator has a flange dimension of 19" wide x 21-1/2" high which is 1" wider than the Cruise65 which is supposed to be the direct replacement. While the unit itself is close to the same, this creates a problem because the hole is now too wide. I will update this as this progresses but I didn't want anyone to go buy a Cruise65 as a direct replacement thinking this would be "easy".

Ugh, it's always something. I see either woodworking or starboard fabrication in your future.

Re: Replacement Pilothouse Refrigerator 31
Install complete- the cruise 65 door model ended up being just about a direct replacement with some minor trimming.

Re: Replacement Pilothouse Refrigerator 31
Looking good JB .. you mad the right choice!
How about that SeaFlo box .. are you installing a unit in the bilge under the forward end of the engine?

Re: Replacement Pilothouse Refrigerator 31
I figured you would notice that…
I talked to the sea flo folks and it does seem that one pump will work with two pickups as long as the pickup which typically “has less water” is on a longer hose run. The forward compartment is the one that typically sees less water, so that should work. I also added valves to both lines so I can cut some flow off if needed to get both lines pulling at the correct flow rate. This is trial and error. I’ll keep the spare Seaflo as a backup unit or may add it as a second unit down the road depending on how this works out.
