Sanitation hose replacement - 32+2CB/35CB

Post by Nancy »

Has anyone tackled sanitation hose replacement on a CB with island queen where the holding tank is below the bed? What is the access situation to the top of the tank and the route to the head and deck pump-out fitting?

We've just begun thinking about this project. Haven't taken anything apart yet to investigate (e.g. cabinet under bed, cabinet under head sink).

Nancy, I recently replaced all of the hose on our 32+2. Our holding tank is below the setee so may be a different configuration. We have two Y-valves, one to direct waste from head overboard or holding tank, and the second from the holding tank to allow macerator discharge or pumpout through the deck fitting.

The whole project took 20 feet of hose, which adds up if you use the fancy stuff (recommended for flexibility and low odor, don't want to do this one twice).

Thanks Joe.

I took apart everything possible in September to understand the system and clean absolutely everything I could reach. Having done that, combined with using/cleaning with Zaal NoFlex Digestor, I'm not convinced the hoses are permeated.

If the time comes to do this project, we'll definitely use Raritan Sani-Flex hose. Have had enough fun on other boats over the years wrestling Trident 102. We will also seriously consider simplifying the system by replacing the Vacuflush with a Marine Elegance toilet. This would eliminate the vacuum pump and tank and a lot of intermediate hoses.
