Hi folks,
Has anyone installed an additional seat facing forward for the first mate? While underway my wife likes to look forward and sits up on the back edge of the bench near the windshield. I don't like to make weird custom alterations, but wanna see if anyone has found a clever way of making a dual helm seat or additional forward facing seat.
Thx,
Rob

Re: TE31 additional fwd facing pilot house seat?
Hi Rob and Happy Holidays! Our TE 31 has a seat support built into the port side settee. Like a three inch diameter X one foot deep pocket for the additional helm seat. When we bought the boat the seat, the same make and model of the pilot seat, was down below. I think it’s supported by the bulkhead between the midship berth and the engine room. Maybe yours has the same pocket?
Good luck!

I added this seat a few years ago. My wife loves it and it is very stable. I through bolted access in ceiling of cross berth.

Thanks for the photo! Yes - something like this is what I was thinking of. So there is a backing plate seen from the midship berth I expect?
Regards
Rob
