BOW THRUSTER BATTERY

Post by Pauld »

I have a 2007 Albin 35 Command Bridge.

Where is the battery for the bow thruster located? Is it a separate battery?

I've been reading that it only gets recharged by shore power.

I only have 2 batteries (that I know if) just aft of the engine under the dinette seat.

Any info about the thruster battery would really be appreciated.

It might or might not have a separate battery. Have you looked under the bed in the forward cabin? That's the logical spot for a dedicated bow thruster battery.

Time to get dirty... Follow the wiring off the thruster it could be anywhere. Good luck and it's a great opportunity to learn more about your vessel.

On my 2004 35CB the bow and stern thrusters both work off the house 8D battery. Not a great setup because I can run all day and the batteries will be all topped up, but the significant draw of the thrusters when maneuvering into a slip leaves a noticeable reduction in battery status.
