Re: Peninsular Parts are available
Based upon the verbiage on the about page it seems as though unique diesel is looking to get out of the marine business and outsourced the work to a sub-contractor till end of year with a big question mark as to the availability of parts in 2023 and onward

Re: Peninsular Parts are available
I agree, I am wondering what parts I should order for the future in case they don't become available again

Re: Peninsular Parts are available
I haven't checked on the exact number but I would think that a fair number of Peninsular engines were sold before the company became extinct so someone should be interested in serving the after-market. Perhaps as an addition to another product line. That may be wishful thinking.
I've been picking up some components as part of a reconditioning effort. The only major part I've bought so far is a new starter. Although I haven't installed it yet, UD says it is the only one they recommend. The raw water pump is not Peninsular-specific and replacement impellers are available from Johnson Pump and Depco. The hoses look like they are standard with the possible exception of one pre-formed curved piece. The glow plugs are still available (at least the type they are currently recommending) but I am having trouble identifying the proper wiring harness for the 6.5 L model (UD is not particularly eager to answer questions). The other major component I am considering is a replacement generator/alternator although I hope that is a standard aftermarket item for Detroit Diesel.
