Custom Water Tanks

Post by trakus »

Anyone here had experience ordering custom plastic water tanks for their A27 or A25? Turns out, while I was going to install two (2) 18x18x12 tanks coupled together, you can't fit the 12" depth past the engine compartment lip and the Yanmar heat exchanger - drats!

So, now I'm having to source custom tanks with depths no larger than 10.5" and I'm finding it a major pain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I'm in Canada, but if I can get something down south for less than $1000, that's the goal.

A heat exchanger is easily R&R'd if that's your only obstacle for getting the tanks in.

Have you looked at Ronco Plastics (https://ronco-plastics.com/) or Trionic (https://trioniccorp.com/)? Both make great products and will put the ports where you want them.

I was going to mention Ronco Plastics too. That's where I got our 20 gallon holding tank from. It has a 10 inch depth so if talking a rectangular tank should not be a problem. Our 18x10x30 inch tank was $325 US + shipping.
Not sure how they'd do shipping to Canada. The stock fresh water tank on A25 is such an odd shape would be very difficult to find a replacement plastic tank to fit.

I have actually been to the Ronco warehouse in Tustin, CA back in 2008 when we had to relace the holding tank in the Catalina 25 sailboat we owned at the time.

Triple "M" Plastic Products out of Kennebunk Maine are an excellent custom plastic tank manufacurer. I've had discussions with them as I had looked toward replacing my 65 gal. 31TE aluminum tank with a 90+ gallon custom baffled plastic. If I go forward, I would use them.
