28TE thru hull
I'm sure this topic has been covered but I am looking for the placement and procedure for adding a washdown/livewell thru hull. I did a search but have not found any threads that really address it. Any insight would be appreciated.

This is probably a silly question, but are you sure that your boat doesn't already have both a washdown pump and a livewell pump? I may be wrong, but I thought both were standard equipment through the years.

Not always. Albin would generally place the labled panel at the helm with Baitwell and SaltWater Washdown, but they were not necessarily equiped. My 28TE had the switch for both, but did not have a SaltWater Washdown. When I purchased the boat from Standish, I had them add a Saltwater washdown thruhull, pump and faucet.
RicM had neither, fished his boat a ton and opted to T into his raw water intake hose from his Air Conditioning thru hull to add a saltwater washdown pump and faucet. For his baitwell he just lay the saltwater washdown hose into his baitwell. His posts can be searched.
To ALandry .. thruhulls and pumps on original builds were separate for both the baitwell and washdown. For the live well Albin generally used a Johnson straight port livewell pump or something similar in 500 gph. The nice thing is that when the cartridge wears out, it is easily replaced. I've upgraded mine to a 1,000 gph cartridge.

I was thinking of running a single thru hull/sea cock then either a T or a dual port livewell pump. According to the plan I have there is a spot to place the thru hull on the starboard side aft of the fuel tank. Mine was not rigged for either and the port livewell is not plumbed (have to figure that out as well). I am going to unwrap this week I think and will start to figure out how to go about it.

I'm going to add the thru hull and livewell pump here.
Wondering where the washdown pump should be mounted. I think I would like to mount the hose somewhere near the transom. (the thumbnail is upside down for the second picture - but if you blow it up it is right side up???)
Also wondering how people who have added a livewell logistically plumbed the fill line. There is no access to the outside of the baitwell. Thinking of maybe installing a 4" pie plate on the port side of the "fishbox" to get access?

That thru hull location is pretty darned close to where my washdown thru hull was on my '02 engine box '28. My washdown pump was mounted to the transom above the thru hull.
On my 28 and now the 31 the water feed to baitwell is on the outside wall most forward. To get there the fishing rod box needs to come out. You'll probably encounter it being pretty well adhered with the use of sealant, but once it breaks free, you'll be home free. Once that is out you'll have all kinds of room for access. Once it's out you'll be surprised how dirty it is back there .. it'll be a good time to get things cleaned up. I currently have both of these boxes out of my boat and my engine air intake will be thanking me!

If mounting to the deck in the bilge, best practice is to bed the mounting plate and then screw the pump to the mounting plate.
