Hey all, I tried searching for a while on this subject before posting, but couldn't find anything exactly relevant. I'm looking at adding a Lewmar Pro-Fish 700 to my A27FC, but I wanted to check here first if anyone has done something similar and can recommend any advice or things to look our for during the install.
Thanks!

I have the same setup and it was no problem. I installed a group 27 battery under my "V" berth and ran wires from my 3 bank charger to that battery to avoid running the very heavy cables from my house bank to the windlass-works great! I need to add that I built a new 1 1/2" thick teak anchor platform also. The windlass mounting bolts also help attach the new platform. Ben "87 27FC

Re: A27FC - Adding anchor windlass, any tricks?
A bit late here, but I just installed a Lewmar Profish 1000 on our A27. I didn't think the original pulpit was strong enough so I replaced it completely with a pulpit that was pulled off of an old Sea Ray. There was plenty of sweat equity in this project, but I'm really happy with the end results. I also put a 1/4" aluminum backing plate under the pulpit from the anchor locker side.
We fish in NE Florida and I want to be able to anchor up in 130+ feet, the anchor locker is just too small. I'm in the process of making the locker 6" deeper (above) the v-birth. By bringing that bulkhead in 6", it more than doubles the volume of the anchor locker. Hope to finish that this week.
