Rod holder caps for sale.

Post by Norseman »

Based on a previous posting I have gotten a few requests to sell/send Rod holder caps.
I tried to respond on PM, but the mail box is full and I found no way of emptying it.

Got 3 caps with more on the way next week.
They are $2.95 each and shipping whatever it is, $6-7 for a priority mail envelope perhaps.
I don’t make any on this, just helping out guys who asked if I could send them caps.
Picture below: (I cut off the ring, but up to each of you want to do a full installation or just caps to pop out and hide, or hang down the coaming when not in use.)
Send email: csy33 at comcast dot net.

Dag,

Can you tell me who makes the caps or even who makes the rod holders?

I generally don't use mine so would rather plug them off most of the time to stop the rain getting in - only issue is where to source them in the UK unless you fancy sending 6 over to me?

Don’t know the manufacturer, probably some generic Chinese whatever.
They seem to be holding up however, 4 years so far, but I keep losing one occasionally, like when hosing down the boat and voila, one flies off and into the deep.

Sure I can send you the caps, but It will be slow and expensive with regular mail, or fast and expensive with FedEX, pick your poison.. :?

I'll pull a rod holder out and try the chandlers first - if no good i'll be in touch!

Can you post a picture of the underside of the cap? Albin seems to have used more than one kind of rod holder over the years, and I haven't found a cap yet to fit ours.

Sure, will do, but did you read the label?
Something about the King Rod Holder..
(I don’t fish, no idea about rods or rod holders, but these caps fit on both my boats, Albin and Cobia, same size rod holders)

Yes, saw the label. Our rod holders are definitely not King.

Hmm, I will measure the caps and and post a picture in a day or so: No idea what King Rod holders are, but they seem to be standard for all the boats I have been around.

Here you go, measurements and all.
Got 6 caps now, Joe requested all 6 but I have no address and no answer on
emails.

The envelope with 6 caps weights 10.6 Oz, probably $5-7 for shipping, and $19 for the caps including sales tax.

First come, first serve.

Are the caps round? Our rod holders are not. I don't have the dimensions handy. Will have to check next time I go to the boat.

The cap rubber inserts are round, yes.

Shipped a batch of 6 caps to California today, $5.95 for postage, total cost then @ $25.00
