The swing in prices amazes me,is it really just the motor that makes such a difference

There are a couple of things that will swing the prices on the 28's.

The peninsular (in my opinion they are a good motor) - does not seem to bring the prices that the Cummins & yanmar powered boats bring.

In 2001-2002 Albin switched to Airex in the stringers as opposed to wood. There are arguments on both sides of that, but I have been around enough boats to know that I hate wood in anything.

Outside of that, its just seeing how they have been maintained.

Also options. If you get one with a genset and ac vs one without either. Plastic vs metal portholes etc.
