deck joint - filler mat'l failure?
Me again,
got the boat in the water on Wednesday, and brought it home..........FINALLY!!, so now I'm finding a lot more things and need some guidance.
the attached picture is my deck, and the joint has some kind of sealant, and it appears to be failing, should the sealant be removed and replaced, if so, what is the best way to remove it, and what is used to reseal it............any thoughts/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

That has just dried out and cracked away - pull it all out and refill with a suitable flexible silicon.

Re: deck joint - filler mat'l failure?
I actually used a bathroom sealant on mine before i had the Flexiteek installed - worked great for three seasons and kept any mould stains at bay. Might be worth checking some out that aren't prone to UV light, that should stop it drying out and cracking again.

I recommend 3M 4000 UV.
Tried silicone before but it stays sticky and attracts dust and dirt, have to dig it out and use the 4000 instead.

no problem, I have one more person I need to speak with and pick their brain, and then after buying and applying it, I'll let you know how it came out

I purchased “Sikaflex uv resistance” from Defender,
