1998 TE bilge pump

I am getting rain water aft of the fuel tank in the area of the rudder post and have no idea where it's coming from has anyone else had this problem? I resealed the area on top of the fuel tank and determined via garden hose that it's not getting in from that area. I don't know why Albin didn't put a pump back there it's where water gathers and the pump under the tank won't do anything until the boat has a lot of water in it. I pump it out manually after a heavy rain and plan on moving the pump back there but still want to figure out where it's coming from. Thanks

The 2001 -28TE has a bilge pump and a switch back there.
Should be plenty of room for a new install.

Kokomo, the water could be coming in from underneath at the rudder post or at the bolts that hold the rudder assembly.

Thanks for your replies I know it's rain water because the boat is on stands and still gets water after a heavy rain. I looked at every place where water could get in and it dawned on me that I have four large holes on the gunwales (rod holders) that must take in rain and I don't know where or how they would drain. I have owned a sailboat for the last 30 years so I don't know much about rod holders in gunwales. I assume there is some kind of a drainage system on the TE but I don't know how it's set up or how to get at it. Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree but I will pour water down the rod holders and see if I can figure out where it goes.

Have you inspected the deck drains, check valves and hoses? I changed mine because of the age of the hose and fittings had cracking. I also added a bilge pump back there.

You are correct that the Albin rod holders drain from their bottoms and then into the bilge. I made round plugs to insert into them out of an old two inch thick closed cell foam boogie board to block them for this very reason when they're not in use.

I've been looking for those caps - I see some with a basic Google search but can't find ones that are stock on my Albin - they're not Perko, there is an "S' Symbol?

Not stock on Albins, they are generic rod holder caps.
