windlass breaker location?

I'm replacing the original IMTRA Windlass with a Lewmar Pro-Series and it comes with a circuit breaker to be installed between the battery and the relay box. Curious if anyone has done this before and know if there's a circuit breaker already installed with the IMTRA or otherwise how to isolate the power line for the windlass.

My Lewmar breaker is located right next to the operating switch .

We installed the Lewmar breaker next to the battery switch under the companionway step. The breaker for the original windlass was at the helm next to the operating switch.

Thanks for all the replies. I believe I have the same IMTR one near the control at the helm but I thought it was just a power switch and not a breaker.

It could be both rolled into one.

It would appear there is no "right" place..like most other add on stuff..

That is correct .. just need to have the Up / Down switch within easy reach at the helm.

Here is a picture of my 28 TE with a combination breaker / up & down switch .. "all in one".

Our breaker is on the step going into the cabin. Really!

The breaker for my 28 is behind the head mirror and to the right.

The windlass breaker on my 2001 Albin 28 TE is below the step going into the cabin (see pic).
