Access to washdown faucet 28TE
Has anyone had to replace their washdown faucet located above the port boarding step? Trying to figure out if it's easier (lol) to reach by removing the rod holder compartment or disassembling the quarter berth.
Photo above was taken one time we had the rod holder compartment removed. Nasty looking plumbing.

I think the removal of the rod holder. Working in the 1/4 birth is tight quarters. I had my 1/4 taken apart last year to install several electric cables.

Your faucets are in a slightly different location, but very close.
I replaced them both and gained access from the quarter berth.
After half the boat was apart and I crawled back there it was easy, once I got past the dried up wasp nests and the droppings anyways...

Re: Access to washdown faucet 28TE
That's an awful long skinny crawling reach to be working from the qtr. berth, but doable. I had things apart in there for an electrical panel project, but for your project I would rather approach from the cockpit.
I had installed a galvanic isolator under the cover board in that exact location of your shower head on my 28 and did so by removing the fishing rod storage panel and my work was right in front of me.

Re: Access to washdown faucet 28TE
This is not shaping up to be an easy project especially if the faucet needs to replaced. I've been googling, and haven't found a faucet of the right configuration: fully vertical, no flange, smallish handle on top. I always like to have a Plan B at a minimum, and in this case, it would be abandoning the old location & compartment and putting a new faucet elsewhere. Someplace easy. Yeah, right.

Not sure of the comparative measurements, but this Scandvik box looks similar:

Re: Access to washdown faucet 28TE
Looks like it has hose. Just remove it from the deck. Unless I'm missing something I don't think that is factory. My freshwater one that I replaced was like others posted a hose bid and very expensive one at that mounted on the surface.
