Has anyone striped paint off teak window frames?

Post by R. D. Pukal »

Hi group,
The past owner painted the window frames white and I would like to take them back to the natural teak look.
What would be the best way to go about removing the paint?
Would it be easier to remove the frames?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rich

I kind of think the white frames in the cockpit is easier on the vision - but if you want the wood back, remove the wood and slap strip-ease on them - wear gloves, it will all bubble off. It may require a couple of applications. Use a neutralizer or water to wash the wood off well. Let dry and sand.

I'm a wood nut too. Tran's right, strip ease is good stuff....eye protection, eye protection - written twice because you have two.
