Add Electric Anchor Windlass

Post by samkopper »

Any thoughts and advice on adding an electric anchor windlass to my '94 Express 28? Brand or other suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard, Sam! There are a number of threads about windlasses, and the search function here works well. Here's the thread I started in 2019: https://albinowners.net/aog/viewtopic.p ... ass#p78093

I replaced my Lewmar fish pro 1000 with a Lewmar 1000. Didn’t like the free fall and wanted to quick swap out. Lewmar added a rubber gasket to seem between gear box and wild cat interface which was the week spot in the design resulting in wasted gear train corrosion. I also put a bead of clear silicone sealer over the gasket surface as added protection.
