A27 Zincs?

Post by Bearkeley »

Does anyone have info on the size and types of zincs needed on the A27? We have been cruising since October and plan to have a diver come and replace the zincs. If I recall correctly, ours has 2, one on the rudder and on the shaft. Thanks!

I have an 1 1/4 bullet on the shaft; previous years were 1 1/4 collars. My "other one" is a transom-mounted 6" x 3" rectangle with long slots for fixing. There are also 2 pencils in the heat exchanger (which I have to cut down to fit).

Mine has a 1.5” collar type on the shaft, a roughly 3-4” through-bolt disk on the rudder and a roughly 6” x 4” block on the transom under the swim platform. If you have a transom block, you might be able to figure the size by looking in the rudder compartment for the bolts.
