Re: New controls
They’re just Morse controls - common as muck over here even if I did just get mine rechromed and freshened up.

Re: New controls
I believe Morse was bought by Teleflex and now even Teleflex doesn't produce the Morse-style controls anymore (even new-old-stock hard to find). A shame because they are elegant and work well. Efishnsea's "Uniflex" may be a brand variant or knock-off by appearances.
When we ordered our 28TE in 1996, we spec'd the single-lever control, which the factory said was only the 2nd they'd ever installed. Prior to that, they used the dual-lever single engine control that did'nt fit well on the helm console mold of that era. I recall some reluctance by the production manager at Albin - guess they didn't trust them - but they did it and it worked great. It seems that shortly thereafter all 28s came with the single-lever Morse(!)
A springtime covid project was to clean & lube my control and cables (untouched and perfectly functional for 24 yrs) and replace the atrociously ugly starboard block from the factory with one I fabricated from a couple of teak winch pads I've had laying around for years.
Something I've noticed in pictures on this forum is that later 28TEs have a modified deck mold with the helm console pad raised so no block under the control is required.

Re: New controls
Not quite, my 2001 came with the separate gear and throttle handles, but maybe the initial buyer requested it, not sure.. seems that shortly thereafter all 28s came with the single-lever Morse(!)

Re: New controls
UFlex/UltraFlex USA was started in 1989 and is still around and producing single lever engine controls in the same unit/footprint that I have in my 2004 and 2006 hull. The casing footprint is a little different than the Morse which is still produced.

In my 2004 it was the same unit, but with the UltraFlexlogo. A quick Google search produces plenty of Uflex and Morse availibility .. Worst Marine, Boaterland, iBoats, etc.
