Salt Water Washdown - 2000 28TE

Post by Bluewater »

I have a Switch/Fuse on the panel and a faucet/valve outboard to port behind the the co-pilot chair. No light when turn on switch and no water. I have not found a specific pump (so far) in the various bilges and do not have (again so far as I am aware) a seacock for the washdown.
Were the switch and faucet sometimes fitted but not plumbed in and/or connected? (Or am I simply missing something?)

On my 28, that faucet was fresh water and my boat was not originally fitted with a raw water washdown though I had the dealer add the pump and faucet. There was a switch with breaker already in place at the helm.

Have you tried the faucet with the freshwater pump powered?

In '02, original seawater pumps were fitted on the transom, port side.

I have not tried it with the fresh water pump on - tomorrow. Been trying to remember the salt water on my previous 1994 TE - but memory fails me. Obviously I need another rum......
Thank you Kevin

On my boat, that faucet is raw water, and the pump and seacock are in the center bilge. Switch and fuse are on the instrument panel.

My 2001, 28TE has the pump/filter located in the port side stern compartment. Switch on panel is labeled Saltwater Wash. Don.
