Hi all,

I'm mulling over the best way to keep most of the UV out of my cabin, while still enjoying the natural light and views.

I'm thinking of having custom shades put in, on rollers, to cover the front 3 windshield panels in my 35TE Flybridge. So that I can control it from the inside versus having to go out on the bow. Are there any issues with having the shade on the INSIDE of the glass versus the outside? In terms of reflection, and radiating that heat onto the glass (I feel like I've heard that this can actually be bad for the glass?)

We used sheers on the inside of our flybridge to shade us when needed. They were temporary held up with Velcro tabs.

Phifertex vinyl shade screen material works well especially in cases where you want ventilation. We have it sewn in the sides & back of our canvas enclosure.

Is there any caution to be taken placing a shade material on the inside of the large windows? Like heat reflecting through and damaging windows? I'm thinking roller shades on the inside, either blackout material or Phifertex.

On enJOYCEment I replaced all the windows with tinted glass with UV coating. DO NOT use a tinting film. Salt water eats it up in no time.

Shades on the outside, covers caulking, slide channels and windshield wipers, easy on and easy off, 2 minutes tops.
Ventilation inside by 2 open Portholes in pilot house and 110 volt fan running 24/7. All good, we only remove the window shades for hurricanes, they seem to stay on for regular gales and thunderstorms.
