Loss in the Albin family

Got him as a two day old duckling. Fed Ex from an anonymous source (mother-in-law strongly suspected).

My Albin is on the other side of the fence from Quincy when he's in the yard, but I could see over it when standing in the cockpit. I'd always say "Hi Quincy" and Quincy would always reply with a "Quack".

It was lonely working on the Albin today.

Male Pekin ducks have an up-turned tail feather. Always reminded me of Alfalfa's hair on the "Little Rascals". Like Alfalfa, I called it "his personality".

I'm no "Duck Whisperer", but Quincy would always tell you how he felt. He had many, many ways to say "quack".

Thanks Ulf. He was awesome.

I was working in the garage last night, sanding the short cabinets with the sliding doors that go in the bow . I kept turning around out of habit, to say "Hi Quincy".

You can see that my red tool cabinet was in his room. I had to ask permission if I needed to get a tool. You can also see I had a piece plywood guarding the front of the cabinet because, you know... ducks.

Ah too bad! Sorry! I have a friend who incubated a duck egg and it hatched and that duck followed him everywhere, finally he found it some friends and it has left the shed it was in but remains close to their house. Lots of character.

Just looked at some of the nice work your brother did with and for you. I like the look of the scribing he did for the trailer supports. I have to completely reconfigure my trailer. If you have any more photos or descriptions of how it was done, I’d love to see them. A pet duck, I like that.

Sorry for your loss! Thank you for the pictures of his good work. And to think how much he must have thought of you to do all that work, and the interior work in the heat. And, I think I know a bit how you feel. My brother and I were planning a sailing trip to Hawaii when he was killed in his Porsche. Having a brother one misses is hard, but it beats having a brother that isn't missed. I still shed some tears for my brother, as you must for yours....
