Sliding pilot house window on 28 TE 2006
Does anyone know who made the sliding pilot house windows on the 28TE. When we closed the starboard forward window, the trim pieces that fits over themafter edge of forward glass popped off and yep, over the side at my Mooring . It has the rubber seal that seals against the aft slider. Has anyone had to replace these. Any contacts? Any info greatly appreciated.

Hi Brad,
Any luck on this? I did exactly the same thing while underway yesterday. Lost the same piece in about 40 feet of water. I posted also but no replies yet. I should have searched first

For many years the windows were manufactured by BOMAR.

I thought I recall a reference here on AOG once that it was this company I linked below but I could be wrong?...…

The reference that you've posted could be the same American Marine that is owned by Pompanette, LLC, but appears to be different. Here is the link to American Marine found through the Pompanette website: http://pompanettellc.com/american-marine/ Through this link you can also find window gasket material.RobS wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 9:05 am I thought I recall a reference here on AOG once that it was this company I linked below but I could be wrong?...…

I do know that my 2002 TE had markings on the windows of "Bomar" and the Alaskan Bulkhead was marked "Aluminum 2000", Both also being a part of the Pompanette Companies.
At the very least, this post has some worthy avenues to follow-up with.
To Capt. Brad, Nick or anyone else that follows-up on this, please report back with your findings.

That makes more sense since it is a New England based vendor.

Re: Sliding pilot house window on 28 TE 2006
I spoke to Neil at Pompanette today and here is what she sent....
Thank you for your email with the photos....I believe these windows were manufactured by our American Marine division. I have attached a sheet of the seals and gaskets that we still have available for you to determine which you are in need of. I believe it might be the TP-139/B If you also think that is the correct on I am happy to send you a small sample piece so that you can physically match it up.
If you would like a sample of that and any others on the sheet please give me the part numbers and I will be happy to forward them to you if you will give me your mailing address.
Best, NELL

Re: Sliding pilot house window on 28 TE 2006
Ok so after further investigation with Nell at Pomanette. They only have the seals for these windows available. The aluminum extrusion is not something they reproduce.
So back to square one. I’m thinking i will have to get it salvage or have it made up!!!!

Re: Sliding pilot house window on 28 TE 2006
Now that the manufacture is identified, I would pursue directly with American Marine. Have some pictures of the other side ready to email to whoever you speak with as you talk and offer to send it to be duplicated. Don't give up!Albesaurus wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 11:16 am Ok so after further investigation with Nell at Pomanette. They only have the seals for these windows available. Re: Sliding pilot house window on 28 TE 2006
I will see if my local boatyard knows of an outfit that does custom work. I will talk with American marine and see if they have specs on it. I won’t attempt to remove other for fear of losing that over the side too until she’s on dry land. Maybe have boat yard glue on some weather stripping . Right now just have to remember when washing side windows, so it from forward to avoid spraying water in side!

If you're not able to find the original extrusion /gasket, Stanpro makes a wide range of window edge products. You might find one that will at least keep the water out until you can replace the original. Defender sells it.

Is there any chance a local glass shop could help?

Re: Sliding pilot house window on 28 TE 2006
It will happen to me soon: All the glued-on window handles have separated, now only pulling and pushing on the that aft trim piece, the one that has departed the above sliding windows.
Will be gentle from now on..
