Hi folks. So it's looking like the fuel injector pump on our 1985 27FC's Nissan LD28 has failed. When the boat was put back in the water the other day (I wasn't there), she turned over but wouldn't catch, and tests indicate the injector pump is not delivering pressure to the injectors. Anyone have any experience with this? Source of replacements? Rebuild?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
John

It's probably your injection pump timing belt on the front of the engine. This is a regular replacement item at about 800 hours (some go 1000 hours but you're tempting fate)! You can get a new one (or two) at Rockauto.com. Look up the "83 Nissan Maxima diesel engine for the part number. There's quite a few posts on here about it. Ben

Want to run my engine (Nissan)....on the trailer. Will a garden hose attached to the water intake hose do the job?

Not a good idea to “pressurize” the cooling system. Take the lid off your raw water strainer and stick your hose in there, turn it on and start her up.
