I have a raymarine cpt100 transom mounted transducer that loses bottom at about 10 knots. There is also a B60 thru hull mounted just to stbd of the keel, about 4’ forward of the transom and just aft of the fuel tanks. It’s not connected, so I don’t know if it works or not. Tried connecting it with an adapter cable, but the A128 didn’t recognize any new sensors. Not sure if my adapter cable wasn’t connecting well (tight fit), or the ducer is bad.
If I need to replace the thru hull, is this a good location for it?
I don’t think any transom mounted transducer will work well, due to all of the thru hulls in the bottom.
Thanks,
Eric

Re: 31TE transducer location
My transducer is located on the port side, just aft of the engine., just above the stringer. Never had a problem with bottom readings.

Re: 31TE transducer location
Thanks. Aft of the engine, and outboard of the stringer? I hadn’t thought of putting it that far forward. That’s right where my Seawater intake seacock is. I could possibly put it on the STBD side, but It would be just aft of the AC seacock, which would cause turbulence I think.

Re: 31TE transducer location
Here are a couple of more threads on this subject including pictures with measurements previously taken. Note: my new B60 is in the exact location as the transducer in the previous fairing block:
