Hey John,
I viewed this post on Friday, not logged in and no pictures. Logged in now and here they are. Has this alwys been the case or just since being able to directly download photos to the site, not using a url link like photo bucket?

I'm totally mesmerized by the antenna mounts as well as the sun screen and roof extensions. We have a 28TE that needs new (6db) antennas so I used a Christmas gift card to purchase a couple Shakespeare 4187 ratchet deck mounts. My thought is to put a 5102 VHF to port and a 5120 AM-FM to starboard, the former to replace our current 5240 3db VHF whip and the latter to add reception for the Jensen am-fm radio.
What I'm not sure about is which location is "best" for the mounts. I was inclined to use the plates connecting the two radar arch tubes until I saw the "sunscreen" photo with the mounts attached to the side of the house just below. I'm thinking that placement would require backing blocks and it's a slightly lower position, as well as being more in the way, especially for foredeck access. Anyone have ideas or experience with this, either installation hints or knowledge about how the mounts perform, either way?
