Nice, hugs and kisses to you after the virus is gone..

Got my fridge today, but it had a slight damage to the door:
Called West Marine first, they said to call the Webasto, Webasto said to call the trucking company.
Getting a bit ticked off, but Webasto said they would give me a new door panel if I put it on. (No, that is their job  )

Here is pictures, anybody else with the same fridge have a similar problem?

The fridge we ordered in 2012 arrived with the wrong color panel. Defender offered to send a new one, and I, being a nice person, figured it would be no big deal to swap it out. Here's an excerpt from my response to Defender when they followed up to make sure all was well:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for following up.

Yes, the panel arrived and it might be the glossy one instead of the matte, but at least it’s black. It’s fine.

The instructions left a lot to be desired. The panel that was in the fridge was attached to a backing panel with very sticky double-sided tape. I needed that backing panel for the new panel because without it, the panel was too flimsy. It wasn’t easy to separate the backer from the white panel, but I managed.

Also, the new panel didn’t come with the door handle screw holes pre-drilled. That was a hassle, too. Even after punching new holes, I had trouble lining everything up with the where the screws needed to seat. I got so frustrated that I called your office to request an entire new door, and I was told to call Indel. That was late last Friday afternoon – too late to make the phone call. The next day, my husband took care of the problem.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, Dag, pick your battle - try to get an entire new door as the panel is a PITA. At least it was in 2012. Maybe it's been redesigned?

Aye, I am not swapping out no panel, somebody did not do their job and I am not doing it for them.
It so happens I live within 20. Minutes from their US headquarters, I will drive up there and confront the useless customer service department who told me I had to replace the panel.
It should be fun..
Stay tuned.

Problem solved, drove over to their warehouse and they swapped the door panel in a few minutes, all good.
(On the newer models there is no need to remove the handle and there is no sticky tape)

Looking closely at my new fridge and don’t see holes for screwing/securing it..?
Is an “install kit” extra or what?
Surely not going to count on friction only to keep it in place.
No owners manual, perhaps it’s missing, will search online.
How did you guys secure the Isotherm 49...?

Thx, I read through it but no brackets or flange to bolt it down like the old Norcold..
Don’t have room for a flush mount flange kit, have to invent something..
The manual says to make sure the fridge sits on it’s rubber feet: Based on that I can’t just hammer in a 15” 2X4 like the gentleman in the above link did.
Curious how other Isotherm conversion projects solved this ? I did search this forum but quite a few of the numerous hits are from the same threads. Perhaps I am searching wrong, must be a better way to find all threads covering Isotherm installation instead of all the postings in all the threads.

I made sure to order one with a flange. The model line is confusing and the numbering system can make you question whether you need new glasses. I spent a lot of time figuring it out, and ended up talking to Dave at Isotherm. He was great.

You might be able to get a flange kit. I hope you don't need to swap for an entirely different model. Sounds like the one you got has the internal anchoring system. I couldn't see a way to make that work (nothing to anchor to inside the cabinet), and besides, I needed to cover the old holes.

Call your friend at Indel Webasto. I'm sure you can get this sorted out.

Thanks Nancy, yeah it will get sorted out, shouldn’t be a big problem.
Talked to somebody at Isotherm before delivery on how to install it, he said “you don”t need a flange kit”.
Well, looks like I do now.
Here is one:

http://www.isotherm-parts.com/isotherm- ... roud-mount

If I mount it flush with the flange kit it will go deeper in the opening as opposed to a proud mount with the door sticking out 2”.
Tried to find out before if the flange is movable with the an option for flush or proud like the new versions of Norcold, but not there yet.
Hard to tell from picture above if the door is out 2” or or flush with the cabinet.
Back to the drawing board.

Now got a flange kit for “proud” installation, which is what I need, but wrong color, the price was right however, 85% discount. (I can always powder coat it, or spray paint whatever.)
Even if I order a proper silver kit later, this one will assist in the installation: The kit came with no instructions and I hate to drill holes in a brand new fridge without crystal clear guidance: The top piece is easy, SS screws already in place on top of the fridge. On the sides however, one needs drill 3 holes in the fridge, each side.
Been searching for you tube videos and/or instructions, no cigar.
Will call customer service shortly.

Yeah, the black-only flange kit is one reason I didn't order a silver or SS fridge. Yes, the door is going to stick out 2". Not a big deal. Your fixation on it will go away a week after the project is incomplete.

Aye, no fixation, the supplier only had a black kit, which I got for free, but tipped the guy $10, hence my comment on the big discount.
I am happy to order and pay for a silver/chrome kit at full price, if I want it. This black flange kit is helping me install the fridge securely, color not important, but it can be changed later, all good.

I want the door to stick out 2”, as in Proud mount, I really do, hence I was lucky to get this recessed flange kit, as opposed to a flush flange kit. Sorry if I was not clear.

Flange kit installed, now measuring closely as the width increased by a few mm. Started dressing the fiberglass with a coarse flat file, but slow going, may have to pull out power tools for the job, and especially when raising the upper lip 3/4” or whatever it takes.
Did not see any screws included with the flange kit, lucky I had 4 of the right kind in my collection, going to the stores now Is not a good idea, some folks don’t take the virus seriously and ignore the safety guidelines.
Considering screwing 1X2” strips to the flange kit, but on the inside of the fiberglass then using the “quick mount” or whatever Webasto call their system using the pre-drilled holes on the inside of the fridge, should make for an even sturdier installation, but may be overkill, will see as I go along.. :?:
