Sweethearts on Lake Pleasant, AZ

As former sailors we still belong to the local Lake Pleasant Sailing Club. Every year around Valentines Day the club holds a "Sweetheart Cruise/Race" and overnight raft up. The idea is to hold a low key casual fun sailboat race where the ladies skipper their boats. That means wives/girlfriends are skippers and man (or woman?) the helm. Male spouses/partners/friends can crew and make suggestions, but the female skippers have final say. Since this is a sailboat race, as power boaters we obviously can't participate, but we did serve as committee boat at both start & finish line. This was a one way race from from one point in a cove, around some landmarks, and ending in another cove at the opposite end of the lake. So once the race fleet was off we followed them and made sure we got to the finish line first to wait for the sailboats to finish & cross the line.
