New hoses installed. Local shop made ‘em while I waited.
1,500 psi rating.
$69 each.
Old hoses were cracked underneath and showed a very rusty steel mesh inside the outer layer. Past their prime for sure.
Also noticed the hoses were under quite a bit of tension due to sharp angles.

New Eaton adapter was 22 mm and the compression fittings 21 mm
(Not quite Americanized yet, still find it easier to work in metrics )

Is hurth German? As for Eaton, they’re the thorn in my side on the aerospace side of manufacturing.

Most of it is normally Parker. They’re the industry leader in pneumatic and hydraulic fittings etc.Sisu22 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 4:43 pm Norseman, I got mine replaced a few months ago at a local industrial hose shop as well. I brought in the old ones so they could make to fit.
I'm not sure it is essential, but I made sure that it was the blue hose that has the USCG rating. For what its worth, the old hoses were made by Aeroquip (there were ID tags). I think the new ones were goodyear 500 PSI working strength. Maybe Parker. Can't remember.

No idea, Eaton was on the invoice: I brought in old fittings and requested new replacement.. Is hurth German? As for Eaton, they’re the thorn in my side on the aerospace side of manufacturing.
Hurth German? Perhaps but maybe somebody merged: Hurth and ZF the same are the same stuff now, I guess..

Horn went Tango Uniform day after my annual CG safety inspection, good timing, kind of..
Found exact replacement at West Marine for $75, or $57 after my dIscount, but different brand name, now Marinco.
Turns out the old horn worked but rusty and in need of retirement anyway, installed new horn and now troubleshooting. Possible switch, possible wiring, old boats are never dull.

Exactly the same one as I fitted last weekend. Need it with all the bloody yachties round here. I’ve gone six seasons without one and I’m not doing another!
Really loud unit for the money and it’s by Marinco so I expect it to last for a while.

Yeah, hooked it up today, loud @ 109 DB.
Found the wiring problem: The fuse holder.
Bypassed it and took power from the source above: Salt Water Washdown.
(Pulled the fused on it long time ago, not pumping no salt water into my boat, trying to keep it out)

I think they face forward to increase the airflow.

Yes, airflow is good, saltwater flow is bad, hence some of us turned the louvers around.

The Search light saga continues: Fixed it a few months ago with a new bulb and fixing (tried to fix) a broken harness.
It worked for a bit, but half dead again last week.
Ordered a refurbished unit for GoLight, it arrived yesterday.
Pulled old harness today found a few other old and retired wires and cables while at it.
Cleaned it up and ran the new harness.

Re: Modifications, repairs and improvements, 28TE
I went with the same HID (High Intensity Discharge) light that has been on the boat since 2011.
It lasted for years with many rain storms and a few hurricanes but finally died a few months ago.
Good record, previous owner installed 8 years ago, lots of abuse, but I will have a canvas cover made to protect it 24/7, we only use the tub and the light in the dark, once in a blue moon, literally.
The cover should protect it from UV and heavy rain in the meantime.

Removed old light, found rot damage to the core.
Will fix that before new installation.

Ugh, another project. So much for the simple swap-out.
