Albin 28 Yanmar valve adjustment

Guys,

I want to adjust the valves but cant figure out how do you turn the motor. My fuel tank is like 1/2" away from the pulley so I cant get a wrench on it. Do you have to pull the motor?

Nah, don’t pull the motor.
My Yanmar mechanic checked the valves earlier this year on my 6LP engine box, I did not pay attention to how he did it, but I am pretty sure he didn’t pull the motor.
Not much adjustment needed, he only did 2 or 3 valves, the rest of them were within limits.

Curios has any one done their valves adjustment them self's?

I have done my own. I was able to cut a socket down very thin and used a breaker bar on it to save more spacing. My tank is very close and was able to make that work.

How close is your fuel tank? I need to measure mine but Im thinking mine is like 1/2".

About an inch. Look up Socket cap set. Harbor freight should have them. Mine was craftsman. Makes a hex nut on the end of socket. Adds only 3/8 on the end of socket. then use a wrench on that. Use block and flex the tank away to gain a bit of room. Always can pull starter and turn engine there. All is better than pulling the engine. Plus the chance of something going wrong with that project.
