28 TE Garbage Bin/Bag
How do you provide for garbage in the cabin? We have a small waste basket behind the toilet for Kleenex et al in the heads, but nothing yet in the cabin. Been hanging a garbage bag on the heads door handle temporarily - but neither elegant nor decorative !

Pretty much the same thing on our 28TE, but we use 2 white kitchen garbage bags, one for recycling aluminum cans and plastic, the other one for garage.

Re: 28 TE Garbage Bin/Bag
I too, have this issue. I have a suction cup hook to the left of the sink hanging over the side birth and it works ok but I would like to figure out something a little more "pretty". There just isn't room. They squeezed a lot onto a 28'. More than most in its class.

Re: 28 TE Garbage Bin/Bag
I’m wondering if a slim garbage bin could be Velcro’d to the outside of the heads door. On this boat it is blank - our previous TE had a full length mirror there... Anyone tried this? I just suffer with bags hanging from door knobs not being shipshape....

Re: 28 TE Garbage Bin/Bag
I use a 2-gallon black plastic can with step-on lid under the table. A plastic grocery bag works as a liner. It's short enough to fit even with the table lowered all the way. Of course the lid only opens a little in that position. Look for something in that capacity range and check dimensions. I don't bother with a can in the head. It's only one step out to the one under the table.

Re: 28 TE Garbage Bin/Bag
We have a small plastic trash can in the head. When we’re aboard for more than a day I put a larger trash bag in the bait well. For convenience I stick one edge of it near the top of the well with a little tape.

Bait well - I hadn’t thought of that. Good idea - thank you. We are on the boat over Christmas and will try it out.

Re: 28 TE Garbage Bin/Bag
I've always kept it simple on the 28 and now the 31 .. I just hang a plastic grocery bag from it's two handles from the most rear portlight dogs. Simple, effective and out of the way.

Re: 28 TE Garbage Bin/Bag
Over the quarter berth?
You must have light weight garbage, here in my town they quit recycling glass, hence wine bottles go in the garbage and will put weight on the dogs. Nah, 18 year old boat, better be gentle on all the equipment.

Re: 28 TE Garbage Bin/Bag
Bag hung above the folding counter extension on the 28. Mostly paper and light weight refuse.
Continuing waste management:
Bottles and cans go in a white 5 gallon bucket stowed in the rear starboard cockpit opposite the transom door or to tidy up, the bucket sometimes gets stowed in the stern locker.

Re: 28 TE Garbage Bin/Bag
We go the baitwell route, especially when we've got kids on board.
