I know that some members have complained about the lack of snow...some were referring to the electronic snow that briefly graced this site while others were referring to the real stuff.
We have lots of the real stuff up here and I will send it (free) to anyone who wants some. (You pay the shipping.)
Katie g in happier times...
Season's greetings to all...cheers!

We had our first white christmas since 1986 yesterday. The wet, slushy snow started at about 2 in the afternoon and had stopped by sunset (4:15). It accumulated just enough to make lawns and trees appear to have a dusting of white for a couple hours. By 7pm, it had all melted and was replaced by light rain.
That was our first snow on Christmas day in 21 years. It will likely be the only snow we get all winter.

katie G is a 2004 Albin 30 Family Cruiser, hull# 15. The forward part of the boat is identical to the Albin 28, as is the power system as well as the auxilliary systems . For the A-30FC, Albin "stretched" the hull mould and added an aft cabin, similar in concept to the A-27 aft cabin that was discontinued around 1990.
My last boat was an Albin 27 and the extra three feet in length and foot of beam makes a huge difference in interior space, both in the main cabin and the aft cabin. There is also a big difference in performance (depending upon engine selections). My A-30 has the Yanmar 315 engine that cruises comfortably at 15 knots and tops out close to 25 knots whereas my A-27 with the 157 Isuzu topped out around 14 knots.
There are six A-30FCs listed for sale on Yachtworld with detailed specs and photos. If anyone wants more detailed personal opinions, they can e-mail me directly.
