Re: PROP Shaft diameter
Can't help with your prop diameter question, but hope you will do regular posts about your Great Loop journey once it commences.
We are contemplating doing the Triangle Loop next year, clockwise from west end of Erie Canal to Oswego Canal, Lake Ontario & St Lawrence to Richelueu River/Canal to Champlain to Hudson River to Waterford & west on the Erie Canal back to Tonawanda. Will be eager to hear about your experiences & tips.

Re: PROP Shaft diameter
for mine it is a 1 1/2 inch shaft and for the space you get to work with you need a "donut"..it is about 3 inches o.d. and about 1 or 1.5 inches thick...I fit mine equidistant in the space avail...dont forget the one on the rudder...about a 3 inch one with a slight dome on each side with a bolt through the middle. Depending on how long you will be in all sorts of water and marinas you might put a spare set onboard..they can be changed in the water by a diver or someone with a mask and good lungs..maybe a longer hose on a snorkle///which will be handy when you got to go get your dockline untangled from the shaft . When did you last repack the gland?...easier for limber people to do in the small space avail.

Desert Albin--will keep folks posted. Thank you so much. Your triangle sounds like a great adventure too.
