Swim ladder strap, bungee or other solutions?

Got the old webbing with plastic snap buckle, and it snapped off the other day.
Not a good system, must be a better mousetrap out there with 1000 28TEs made?
Did a search, last entry on a “Swim Ladder Strap” search was 12 years ago.
Using a piece of flag line in the meantime..

When ours broke, I scrounged through all the webbing and fittings that I save (to the great consternation of my husband) and made a new strap with a new buckle. If your first one lasted 18 years, why reinvent the wheel? Then again, I see no problem securing it with a length of line.

Because it has been a royal pain in the arse securing the swim ladder after use: Somebody has to lay down and try to connect the buckles under the ladder and under the platform, in the blind while cursing and swearing.
There has to be a better and more elegant solution, hence this thread.

I don't have to lie down. Everything is visible and accessible. I'll try to remember to take a picture tomorrow.

I just use a Velcro strap. Has been good for several years without problems.

Wow, you must have a different “system” than us. A picture would be great.
I can easily modify my webbing and add a buckle etc, IF the boat is on dry land, but it is not due for a haul out for at least another year.
Need something simple in the meantime, I can always do stuff under the swim ladder in the Keys, but in the canal here in Fort Lauderdale the water is toxic from all the dead iguanas floating around, and bull sharks has been sighted because of it.

Couple of photos below should help illustrate. This could be easily installed from the platform without risking life and limb to sharks or nasty water (sounds awful).

Then again, a velcro strap sounds just about perfect.

Ok, thx Nancy, that is a bit different than on my tub: The attachment screw is way forward and underneath the platform: Secret and hidden from view.

Yeah, this strap couldn't be much simpler. I do like the Velcro strap idea, though. Only disadvantage is the likelihood of dropping it in the drink.

When I bought my 28, I changed out the ladder with a top mounted ladder, six step heavy duty. There was no way I try wrestling with the stock ladder. Having the ladder on top has not caused any issues.

Great idea, I have also considered on and off, to install a bigger and better ladder and I just may do that next time in the yard.

Just wrap the Velcro strap around a rung a couple of times to hold it in place. Wrap loose end around lowest rung to store ladder. Stays on tightly.

Yup, that is the easy solution for sure.
Will head to the hardware store and look for double sided velcro tomorrow, and a few spare lengths in case I lose it in the drink.
