I have just finished sanding the teak rail around my 36 albin . Is there anything I should do to thr teak before cetol? I had a lot of black spots showing under the finish . Thanks

Re: Teak rail
Black is mold in the grain. A purist would sand until they are gone, but many like the character they give.
I always do a very light/quick acetone wipe just prior to cetol to clean the wood and dust.

Re: Teak rail
Don't sand! A heat gun and scraper for the majority. Finish up with Bar Keeper's Friend or oxalic acid to clean the wood. Make up a slurry and gently work it into the teak. Let it sit a few minutes and then rinse it out. Your teak should look noticeably better. Let it dry, wipe with acetone, and apply Cetol.
