I think this is the best place to mention davits, a search only produced “The Dingy Thread”. We have an 8’ Boss Dingy, it’s a fiberglass tube Dingy. (http://www.rigidboats.com/boats/) it’s not terribly heavy, but with the weaver davits, it was twisting the outer plank of the swim platform. A fix was to spread the stress of the weight across the entire swim platform. So far, it’s made the retrevial of the dink easier, I just have to design a harness that I can attach to the lifting Vang on the end of the boom.
Please no criticism about the condition of the teak, it’s on the “To Do” list.
