Re: Albin parts
First I've heard. I got error message too. I too hope they haven't gone out of business. What's the world coming to when you can't get parts support for 40 to 50 year old boats that went out of production 37 years ago? I'm going to try emailing them at info@albinmotor.com & see if they answer. Keep us posted. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Albin parts
I got a reply from Stefan at Albin motor. He said the site went down on "11/12", which I take to mean November 12th in month/day instead of day/month format we're used to. Was due to technical glitch in process of a platform upgrade. He said quote, "We shall start up a new web shop before Christmas!!!" So fear not.

Excellent news. I’m hoping the new web shop will be more extensive? I’m grateful the parts source is there.

Re: Albin parts
Never heard of this site.
Do they carry parts for all Albins, or just the old Swedish built models?

Re: Albin parts
Hello All,
I too am having an affair with Albin.
She is a 1973 Albin AD-21 diesel.
Such a beautiful creature. All those bronze appendages. Such a sweet voice
All that aside she needs some work on her plumbing
Any other source or cross reference for water impellers?
Thanks, Gary

Re: Albin parts
Agreed, the AD21 is a rugged little engine but after 50 years of work there are a few things that likely require attention. Fortunately, Albin Motor can supply most of what you will need. I posted a thread on here about two years ago on the rebuilding of an AD21 for my boat. You can find it here viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9868&hilit=New+Heart+for+Sea+Quill
I found all metal parts to be in excellent condition with no significant wear. However all gaskets, seals and o-rings were pretty much carbonized and brittle. A complete engine gasket kit took care of the problem except for the injection pump which is a Simms product.
I located a seal kit for the Simms pump from Star Diesel in Italy. This took care of oil leakage coming from the pump. It isn't obvious at a casual glance but the injection pump is a 3 cylinder pump modified for a 2 cylinder engine so look for a kit manufactured for the 3 cylinder Simms pump. All supplied parts fit the pump.

Re: Albin parts
Surely you have seen the cross reference charts available at most of the biggies, right?
I spent some fifteen minutes looking at Johnson, Xylem, Jabsco. Their current sites are geared more toward those who have the exact impeller number in hand, not particularly helpful.
Here is an older cross reference chart. Once you know the part number, you can go shopping.
http://newcontent.westmarine.com/conten ... atalog.pdf
These charts take a while to read, but I found them helpful, and I discovered my impellers (for ancient Volvo Penta) were available almost everywhere. I have accumulated about half a dozen pumps, all in various states of wear and in need of serious work. I finally opted for new, which I ordered through ASAP supply in the UK. The AD21 pump may be very specific and I do not have hands on experience with it. Someday...
There are also electrically driven pumps (as well as belt driven) that one can mount off the engine if yours is camshaft driven. The setup that came with the boat (A25) was aftermarket converted to FWC. The original single cam driven pump was replaced with a piggy back pump, one for seawater and the other for antifreeze. A PO had mixed up the impellers and didn't realize that 12 mm was not the same as 12.7, details, details. Anyhoo, I have since installed a separate belt-driven centrifugal antifreeze pump that came with one of my junk engines and reverted to the original, single, cam driven raw water pump. The centrifugal pump is all bronze, all the time. I think it will last longer than me.
I hope this helps.
