Hello,
I am new to the group , we just purchased a 31TE and have been doing some upgrades and updating. I am in the process of redesigning the helm pod , I want to lower it a bit and then have it gel coated to match the top sides ang get rid of the big black pod. I was hoping someone else has done this and could share some photos, I have a brand new factory gauge cluster and new Garmin 12” MFD , Autopilot and bow/stern thruster joysticks to install but will leave the steering in the same location.
Thanks Doug
31TE. Makai. Bristol RI

Re: Helm dashboard modifications
I was trying to post my dash project but out photo server is down. Hopefully our guy will be able to get it going tomorrow. I'm in Catalina and can't check it out. I will post a link that will be public for a week when it gets working. I wouldn't lower the upper housing IMO. It will fit a 12'NSS or at least mine will. Just my two cent's worth. I had a complete new switch and breaker panel built then put new gauges in.

Re: Helm dashboard modifications
Thanks Mike,
I did mount my display when we bought the boat, I am trying to make it look a little better. I have a lot of extra room inside and the bubble on the front makes it impossible to clean the entire windshield and dash. I already removed the pod and cut the back and front off and now starting to design the new face plate. I look forward to seeing your project t get some ideas.
Thanks
Doug

I did my dash but not the pod... My next project is the new electronics in the pod as you call it, I think. I will leave this up for a week or so.
