I am looking at HIN# AUL28523E001 and wanted to see if this would be a balsa wood core or not ?

So that makes her a 2001 model manufactured in May of 2000. According to the post at the end of this thread that's about the time Albin switched core material.

So it could be either.

Personally - as long as the thru hulls look good (The ones to really check are the ones added later, such as the transducer) and the survey doesn't turn up any moisture issues it would be a non factor either way. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another balsa cored boat.

My 2000 te28 HIN # is AUL28471I900 and is foam cored
