Rain leaking into aft cabin through deck floor seam

Post by MDoyle »

The roof cap on my alin 34 leaks along the deck seam. The screws are mostly stripped out. Can't tighten them or remove them. Would riveting them keep the seal from breaking. The chalking holds for a while but seal breaks in a few months.

Do you have any photos of the deck seam where it's leaking? If you do, send me one or two, I might have some ideas that could be helpful (then again, perhaps I don't, only time will tell.)

Just a quick comment - while it can be expedient to swap info directly at times - please try to post the photos and each of your thoughts here as well. Someone else will come along with the same question at some point and that's where the real value of a forum like AOG exists - The collected wisdom of this group as collected over time.

Thanks!!
