Easy Victor became Lola Girl in 2014 when we purchased her. We are Canadians and have cruised the west coast of Florida each winter since for 5 or 6 weeks. Have kept Lola Girl on a lift in Port Charlotte and brought her trailer back to Canada as we did not have storage room there. We plan to take the trailer back to Florida this winter and trailer Lola Girl to the Keys and later bring her back to New Brunswick for some maintenance and then on to Ontario and do the 1000 islands and the Rideau Canal this summer.
We expect to trailer back to Florida next winter.

We are Canadians and have cruised the west coast of Florida each winter since for 5 or 6 weeks.

We are Arizonans who love to cruise the Inside Passage/Gulf Islands/Sunshine Coast of British Columbia for 5 or 6 weeks at a time during summer, trailering our "La Dolce Vita" up from the Phoenix area to NW Washington. Not every summer, but have done so each even numbered year since 2014 when we first got our boat (see posts in "Albin Cruising, Cruising subfolder"). So we're kindred spirits in a way, and it's what owning a classic trailerable pocket trawler is all about.

There's another Albin 25 owner, aka 'sunsetrider', in Sharbot Lake, ON who keeps his A25 in Gananoque near 1000 Islands during summer. Although he's getting ready to transition to a larger trawler soon. Last year 2017 we did a big road trip with our small RV camp trailer & among other places visited Stephen D., aka sunsetrider, & had a great time visiting & were treated to a ride on his boat around some of the 1000 Islands near Gananoque. Even learned the proper pronunciation, 'gah-nah-KNOCK-quay'. He's also interested in wintering in Florida.

Our RV road trip also included driving down to Florida to visit relatives in Fort Pierce, Orlando, and Panama City before returning to Arizona, but we didn't go any farther south on the west coast of Florida.

The "Little private island thing" wears thin when you consider the hassle to get a litre of milk on a Sunday morning!

Kerrye, we have close friends here in New Brunswick who we have been cruising together since 1970. They have a canal home in Port Charlotte with an unused lift in their back yard. We modified the bunks on the lift to match the trailer.
There are several storage yards in the area. The nicest one that we saw is Indiantown Marina on the Okeechobee just east of the lake.

Folks, Lola Girl is now in New Brunswick. After a short cruise in Florida we loaded Lola Girl on her trailer. Following 2 says decommissioning we left 2 days later at 5 A.M. Before leaving for Florida I installed a complete new surge brake system on our easy loader trailer. worked great.
We quickly fell into a routine. Change drivers every fuel refill. Tow vehicle Silverado with 5.3 Arrived home on the third day at about 9 PM after spending about 1 hour at Canada customs. About 36 hours actual driving.
About to begin a list of projects in preparation for the trip to the Thousand Islands and Rideau Canal this summer.

Saltypaws, maybe you should consider starting a new thread for the Adventures of Lola Girl, just to avoid confusion with the Previous Owner's thread.
We look forward to hearing more and are glad that Desert Albin has a serious competitor in Over-the -Road miles on the vessel! Let us know when you bring her out to the PNW.

Another road warrior! Bravo! +/- 1,900 miles in three days, wow that's haulin' some freight, eh! Usually takes us 4 to 5 days to run the 1,600 miles from Phoenix to Blaine, WA. We're taking La Dolce Vita back up to PNW again this year, hope to celebrate July 1st Canada Day in Sidney on Vancouver Island. Or maybe do Victoria? But yes projects, projects, there's always projects. Our boat is currently laid up getting bottom job, long overdue decks & topsides paint job, then putting in new front and aft cabin plexi windows, modifying & re-upholstering the driver bench seat, plus the usual PM's. That's how we make a small fortune (by starting with a large fortune).
