Yanmar 315 Coolant Capacity

Post by Cape Codder »

I'm about to drain and replace the fresh water coolant with 50/50 mix of the orange Dex-Cool or equal.
If someone has already accomplished this task, do you know how much coolant is needed?
Thanks.

Yanmar Engine Coolant

Post by johnmurray »

I have not yet replaced my engine coolant, but my Yanmar 515 engine operating manual says that the cooling system capacity is 13.5 litres (about 3.5 US gallons). The LLC coolant requirement based upon a 50-50 mix would therefore be half of that.

John,
You were right on the capacity. 3.5 gallons is what she took of Havoline 50/50 Orange Coolant.
Thanks again.
