restoring a 1973 Albin AD-21 22hp diesel 2 cylinder motor.

Post by HansCavu »

Hi All,
I am restoring a 1973 Albin AD-21 22hp diesel 2 cylinder motor.
I am looking primarily for the flexible rubber water impellers.
I would also like to find other parts.
The AME Ship Equipment seems to no longer be in business.
Any other suggestions?
I have been trying to cross reference the impellers with dimensions to no avail.
Thanks, Gary

They appear to be having website issues but their catalog page claims they have most parts for the AD-21.

Here's the page (english version): http://www.albinmotor.com/AlbinMotor/english/index.html

Here are a few links that may be of interest to those who have the Mighty AD 21 in their boat.

After reading up on and hearing about the duty cycle and sheer robust nature of the AD-21, I am a little jealous. Of course, my super sleek Mark 2 with the recurve stern NEEDS all 35 horses the Volvo Penta (at one time may have) delivered. If I am going to burn all that extra fuel I better go half a knot faster.

Just got an email update back from Albin Motor this morning about the functionality of their website:
The shop takes a few days more, but in the end of December it shall be in process.

i am pretty sure that the swedish albin parts site is the only source in the world for those impellers.
and look out, your ad-21 likely takes 2 of them. the 2nd hides right behind a thin plate that the first one sits against.
