Yep, looks just like my sail rig, except my sails are not labeled "Albin Sails". By the way, the mast & boom were made in England. Actually it's sad how little value it adds to the boat. Generally speaking you can't get much more than one old blown out rag of a used sail for $200. And yes, while they last a long time depending on use, sails do eventually wear out and lose stiffness & performance. It's why serious racers spend beaucoup bucks and buy new sails every season or two. Also it's likely these photos were the last time I'll probably bother with putting up the mast & sails. Too much bother for too little gain.

That sail, mast and rigging is in great shape. Basically unused. It came from my boat (SKOL #2240) as I didn’t want it In my recent purchase (logistics).
I will most likely be removing the interior mast support and table TBD. If someone is looking for one of those PM me. .

Modest amount of steadying compared to similar rough conditions without the mast and sail. Just the mast alone without raising the sail ("bare poles") did provide a lesser amount of steadying due to pendulum effect. Some small amount of fuel efficiency improvement with sail up. While we have a headsail we never used it because it would block 50% of forward visibility from the helm. Also never used the mainsail without also running the engine in "motor sail" mode. Even then was only practical when there was a decent breeze coming from directly abeam or aft quarter, ie "beam reach" or "broad reach" in sailing terms. It was only practical at all to go through the hassle of mast raising because we were on the water for six weeks. If I were to have a boat wet slipped full time in the Pacific Northwest I'd seriously consider some sort of pilothouse sailboat or motorsailer.
