Anchor platform / repair materials

Hi altering a doner platform to fit my 27 had me thinking of a few things I've learned working on boats for not yet enough years. Perfect is what works, and things can often be altered to be perfect.On this project I used 3 materials I consider essential to a owner doing repairs. Expoxy, ok that's a given but when combined with a cloth called dynell it makes everyone look like a glass pro with great ease of handling and wet out and far superior strength over conventional glass work. Marine Tex. A must have for high strength repairs of all kinds. And Smith's penetrating expoxy. All of these materials will greatly help a owner repair person get a project done as well or better than the boatyard. Familiar to most but maybe not all of us. Regards

Yep, Marine Tex (or equivalent West Marine store brand) is very handy. So is West System two part G/Flex (tm) thickened epoxy adhesive gel.

Comes in various sizes of gel or liquid versions, but for small jobs the gel in 125 ml tubes is great for small repairs & projects. Resin & hardener are mixed in 1:1 ratio, great for measuring out small amounts. $30 at West Marine.
