24 foot Albin
I was at my marina last night and at one of the transient slips was a 24 foot albin soft top. I spoke with the owner. He just bought it a couple of weeks ago. I believe he said it was a 1992 model. One of less than 50 made. It looked brand new.

Re: 24 foot Albin
I saw the 24 Getaway at either the 90 or 91 Annapolis Show. It is another Compton designed Albin that was not a marketing success though it is IMO a great boat. IMO it failed for a number of reasons, none having to do with quality or practicality.
At a distance the profile is the same as the larger 32 Family Fisherman, as the 32+2 was called then. It was intended as a trailerable however the early 90s was before large SUVs to pull such a heavy boat were available. It was expensive in a world of cookiecutter Sea Rays & Bayliners. Quality costs money. It was also a very different design. People like sameness. Look at cars! You have to be a little different to own an Albin & not mind standing out from the crowd. It was either IB or IO, the IB version being much more difficult to launch & retrieve for your average trailerboater.
I had an A27AC at the time but the 24 looked like a great weekender for two to me.
For those not familiar with the model I think the spec sheet is here on AOG somewhere.

Re: 24 foot Albin
Hello
I recently purchased GABBY (24' Getaway)and I am looking for A copy of the owners manual.
I contacted Albin but was told that they cannot provide me with one...Anyone know where I can
obtain A copy?

Re: 24 foot Albin
You may want to search the A25/A27 forum as this is where most of the 24/27 Getaway information is.
There is no manual as far as I can determine and I’ve been on the lookout for one for a long time.
What is your engine configuration, hull number and year? Original setup for the engine was a choice of a gas or one of two diesels.
Have fun,

Re: 24 foot Albin
I recently purchased Isshoni- a Getaway 24, and am also looking for an owner's manual. Was one found somewhere on line, in print, anywhere? I'd love to find a copy. Mine has a Yanmar diesel.

Re: 24 foot Albin
Browsing Craigslist yesterday I saw what I now know is an Albin Getaway 24, offered for sale on CL Florida - I think it was St Pete.
Just saying it looked v. cool, but probably not for colder climes.

Re: 24 foot Albin
SNORT! CHOKE! GAG! HOW MANY HP??
I DID see a 25 with a 70 plus HP turbo and spoke with the guy who did it! Fuel tank is too small, but 14 knots in the 25 has to be kinda special.

Re: 24 foot Albin
I was hoping the HP was a typo. Can't find the ad now to check.

Re: 24 foot Albin
Then there's the Albin 23. This one on CL down near Long Beach, CA. Interesting, 2005 model, 65HP Perkins diesel in a 23 foot 6 to 7 knot trawler! Asking $55K.

Re: 24 foot Albin
That's a very sweet ride. Not sure I'd want to cruise long Pacific distances in it, but it does present well. Looks like a nicely designed cabin etc. 55K seems a little excessive.
