burgee pole mount

Post by beuerle »

Hi,

Can anyone let me know what make/model of clamp you used to mount a pole to fly a burgee from the bow railing? I've found that because tight radius of the curve at the very front of the railing, that a Taylor Made clamp that I tried wouldn't fit. I think the railing is 1 inch diameter, maybe I need to get a clamp made for a bigger diameter and use tape or sometihng to build up the railing to a more unifnorm diameter at the curve?

Appreciate any advice.

thanks,

Brian

The bow rail at the tip of the bowsprit is slightly out of round because of the tight radius that it is bent. You have to force the Perko rail fitting onto it. Gently.

Agreed - my Perko was a tight fit initially, but now fits well. I loosen it and drop it for winter wrap; no problems. Only "watch-out" - tie your screwdriver to your hand while squeezing clamp to pulpit. (voice of ex.)

"Clunk - clunk - splash" by chance? :) That's never happened to me!
