engine stalling need help
new owner of a 27' fc with an 88hp yanmar. running very nicely for about an hour or so, then stalled out without even a sputter. ignition is weak and cannot restart for about 2-3 minutes, then she fired right up and ran another 15-30 minutes, then stalled again. any thoughts????

Re: engine stalling need help
Perhaps a blockage in the fuel system, maybe the overflow vent is blocked, creating a vacuum as the engine runs, it stops and air slowly returns into the tank letting fuel flow again (for awhile) until the cycle repeats
This happened to a friend of mine with his outboard, he forgot to open the vent on the tank -- maybe there are parallels in your situation.
