Does anyone have the specifications (length) of the struts and a source to buy them?

Re: Gas struts for A28TE engine box
I know I had posted this. Search "spring lift" with me as author and you shall find.....

Re: Gas struts for A28TE engine box
Thanks Rob.
Attwood has a number of different lengths and pressure ratings you set when you order. I'll let you know how it comes out in the ends
http://www.attwoodmarine.com/store/prod ... as-springs
From the "search" it looks like this is the one, but not sure until I measure again.
Attwood Gas Spring 26"X16"C30# 10mm #SL25-30-1

From the search also, "....22 1/2 in.extended. 17in.compressed Shaft is 1/2 in.dia...."
I'll remeasure what I've got to be sure.
Now what about pressure. One post said 30 pounds wasn't enough.
Any ideas?
I could order with 60 pounds and let it lift on its own, eh?

Re: Gas struts for A28TE engine box
I picked up 2 Attwood Springlift SL25 Gas Spring on sale for $20 Ea. from Back to Boating.
I used 1-1/2" thick starboard blocks using 4 screws - it works great - no longer catches the insulation and using a larger block that allows 4 screws really makes it secure.

Your local NAPA auto parts has many lengths and pressures in stock.
